Ugh, American english is a pristine example of why you shouldn’t change something simply for changes sake, and why international standards need to exist. Next will you be trying to get us all using the imperial measurement system?

You know this is a joke, right? Also: I don’t believe American English changed for changes’ sake. It changed because of the geographic and cultural separation from England. You’re an Australian– you know just as well as Americans how culture and language change.

PS – I actually do prefer imperial measurements because of the prevalence of fractions and good bases. 🙂
